More than 1,600 fines have been issued in Abu Dhabi to people found violating the COVID-19 precautionary measures.
The penalties were issued by Abu Dhabi Police over a two-month period to those caught flouting the rules at several shopping malls and beaches across the emirate.
They were mainly pulled up for not wearing face masks, failing to maintain physical distance, and also for attending or hosting gatherings.
Authorities have once again highlighted the importance of complying with the regulations and behaving responsibly while in public places.
