Ras Al Khaimah has unveiled details of an ambitious plan to become a leading travel destination. The northern emirate’s Tourism Development Authority is re-branding itself, focusing on RAK’s natural assets, heritage offerings and activities catering to all types of travellers. It’s also reaching out to new source markets, with the aim of boosting visitor numbers to 1 million by 2018. The authority’s CEO, Haitham Mattar, says he's hugely ambitious for the emirate.
