Dubai Municipality has unveiled Hatta’s first sand equestrian track, offering horse riders a scenic and safe experience through the region’s mountainous terrain.

Stretching 2.5 km long and three metres wide, the track caters to both amateurs and professionals, and is part of a broader plan to boost tourism and leisure under the directives of the Supreme Committee to Oversee the Development of Hatta.

Officials say the project will not only enhance recreational options but also spark new economic opportunities in equestrian sports, hospitality and retail — supporting local businesses and attracting adventure-seeking visitors.

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, says the track reflects Emirati heritage and meets international standards, reinforcing Hatta’s status as a top destination for equestrian and nature enthusiasts.

Visitors can ride hired horses or bring their own to explore the natural surroundings.
