Beauty mogul Huda Kattan has publicly condemned Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation after it cut ties with Muslim Women’s Coalition (MWC) due to its Pro-Palestine stance.
Kattan spoke out after reports emerged that Archewell Foundation revoked a $55,000 (AED 200,000) donation over the pro-Palestinian views.
According to a report by The Intercept, the foundation pulled the funding after discovering President of MWC's Janan Najeeb's public support for Palestinian human rights.
Kattan, who is vocal advocate for justice in the Middle East, didn’t hold back in her reaction on social media.
The move has sparked backlash against the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s foundation, raising concerns about the growing pressure to silence voices supporting Palestinian rights.
Najeeb also responded to the controversy, standing firm in her advocacy. "I will not apologise for defending human rights or rejecting the dehumanisation of any people, including the Palestinians.”
She added that Archewell’s swift withdrawal was “regrettable” but not surprising, calling it part of a larger national trend.
The incident has opened up a larger conversation, highlighting the growing tension between celebrity philanthropy and political expression.
