Williams, Andreescu to meet in US Open finals

Serena Williams and Bianca Andreescu will play each other in the finals of the US Open after both players won their semi-final matches on Friday.

Williams, who is looking to win a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam singles title, crushed Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-1.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Canadian Andreescu got the better of reigning Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships winner Belinda Bencic in a tight encounter. 

The finals will be played on Saturday in New York.
