MOI launches mobility permit for residents during disinfection drive

WAM

A new link has been set-up for people to apply for ‘move permits’, should they need to buy essentials like food or medicine during the night.

This comes after the country began a National Disinfection Programme from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am in a bid to help contain the spread of COVID-19.

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) launched the Federal Mobility Permit Service to allow people to leave their homes and move outdoors during the overnight disinfection drive.

Once issued, residents can move across the emirate they currently reside in and the UAE as a whole.

People in the country are being reminded that leaving the house without a permit during the overnight disinfection process (between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am) will result in a AED3,000 fine.
