The details of medicines and medical products registered in the UAE can now be accessed via WhatsApp.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention's (MoHAP) latest service is designed to promote transparency and help patients, health professionals and pharmacists.

Users can obtain detailed information about each drug, including its active ingredients, pharmaceutical form, package size available in the country, and selling price.

"The medical products directory also facilitates easier access for medical professionals and pharmacists to view registered and licensed medicines, searchable by trade or scientific name," said Ahmed Ali Al Dashti, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector at MoHAP.

The service, which is available in English, can be accessed 24|7 through the WhatsApp number 0097142301221.

The initiative was unveiled during GITEX Global, which is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 16 to 20.
