Sharjah honours 3 men for swift action in helping fire crew

Sharjah Civil Defence has honoured three men for their swift action and courage in helping fire crew contain two separate fire incidents.

In posts on its official social media handle, Colonel Youssef Obaid Al-Shamsi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence Authority thanked the men for stepping into action and stopping the spread of the fire.

In one incident at an industrial site in Sharjah, a resident used his personal crane to support the efforts of teams from Sharjah Civil Defence in containing a fire that broke out in a vehicle used to transport waste. The authority said his prompt intervention enabled the firefighters to control the blaze in record time without any injuries.

In another incident involving a waste transport vehicle, two citizens quickly removed the burning material and alerted the authorities. They also used water and fire extinguishers to control the situation until the firefighters arrived on the scene. Their actions helped reduce damage, the officials added.

The authority emphasized that the bravery of the men embody the spirit of social responsibility and encouraged such community partnerships.
