Lawmakers, celebrities call for release of US rapper

American Congressmen and celebrities are pushing for A$AP Rocky's release from jail.

The American rapper, whose legal name is Rakim Mayers, has been detained for three weeks in Sweden.

Prosecutors in the country are continuing to investigate the musician’s role in a brawl that took place in Stockholm earlier this month.

Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes and Jada Pinkett Smith are just some the celebrities who have called for A$AP Rocky to be freed.

Meanwhile US Rep. Adriano Espaillat has also expressed his support for the 30-year-old to be freed.
