A six-episode series on the high school years of NFL star and civil rights activist Colin Kaepernick is coming to Netflix.
The streaming network explained that the series, titled Colin in Black & White, will lend "meaningful insight into the acts and experiences that led him to become the activist he is today".
Kaepernick, who became a symbol in the fight against racial injustice when he refused to stand as the US national anthem played before NFL games, will make an appearance in the project.
"Too often we see race and black stories portrayed through a white lens," he said.
“We seek to give new perspective to the differing realities that black people face.
"We explore the racial conflicts I faced as an adopted black man in a white community, during my high school years."
