The Arab League has warned against the escalation of wars in the region and the continued practices of the Israeli occupation in the Arab territories in posing a real threat to the region's development and human resources.
In a statement issued on Tuesday to mark the Arab Day for Population and Development, the League’s General Secretariat reaffirmed the urgent need for concerted international efforts to protect populations from the devastating effects of conflict.
He also highlighted the need to redirect resources towards education, health and development instead of military expenditure.
Meanwhile, Israeli planes launched strikes in Gaza on Tuesday after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's order to carry out powerful military attacks in Gaza, according to Reuters.
The Prime Minister accused Hamas of violating a ceasefire in the Palestinian territory, the latest test of a fragile deal brokered earlier this month by US President Donald Trump.
