The world’s oldest man has officially been recognised as the UK's Robert Weighton, aged 112 and 1 day.
Guinness World Records examined all the records and prepared his certificate, but due to rules around social distancing they couldn’t stage their usual ceremony in person.
Instead, his care home arranged for ‘Happy Birthday’ to be sung on his balcony and presented him with his certificate, all from a safe distance.
On receiving the record, Bob said he's very pleased he’s been able to live so long and make so many friends, but was sad to hear that the previous holder had died.
The oldest person alive is a Japanese woman Kane Tanaka, who is aged 117 years and 88 days.
