441 private firms fined for faking Emiratisation targets

MOHRE

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has fined 441 private companies for faking the employment of Emirati citizens, and ceased their financial benefits under the Nafis programme.

The violations were recorded from the second half of 2022.

A total of 436 firms were penalised for false Emiratisation, while five establishments were found to have circumvented Emiratisation targets.

The ministry added that "penalties and administrative procedures were imposed on the violating firms".

The public have been urged to report violations through the ministry's channels such as the call centre (600590000) or the smart app.

According to the law, private firms with more than 50 employees must ensure that at least 2 per cent of their skilled workforce are Emirati.

It is in line with the UAE Cabinet’s resolution to gradually raise the Emiratisation rates of skilled jobs to 10 per cent by the end of 2026.
