Officials in the UAE have arrested 64 people who were infected with COVID-19 and did not follow the health and safety guidelines.
According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the accused came in contact with other people, who consequently contracted the virus as a result.
Legal action will be taken against the defendants, who’ve been referred to the Public Prosecution.
Authorities have clarified that failing to complete the 14-day quarantine period and violating health and safety laws issued by the UAE government may result in imprisonment or a fine.
