India's Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled exams for Class 10 students in the UAE and Middle East region.
Citing the regional developments, the board informed Principals of schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE of the decision to cancel all exams for Class 10 students in the Middle East region scheduled to take place between March 7 and March 11.
Examinations scheduled for March 2, March 5, and March 6, which were earlier postponed, have also been cancelled.
The board added that the mode of result declaration for Class 10 students in the region will be notified separately.
This comes after CBSE had earlier postponed exams scheduled for Class 10 and 12 students on Thursday, March 5, and Friday, March 6, in the UAE and the Middle East due to the "ongoing regional developments".
The examination scheduled for Saturday, March 7, for Class 12 students has also been postponed.
Revised dates will be announced following a review of the situation on Saturday, the board announced.
All the Class 12 students have been advised to remain in close contact with their schools and follow official announcements carefully.
