If you are planning to fly to the UK or any of the European Union nations from the UAE, make sure you get tested for COVID-19.

From August 1, it's mandatory for passengers heading to these destinations to carry their negative PCR test result.

In a statement on its website, Etihad Airways said the test is required for those travelling from Abu Dhabi to the UK or an EU destination.

Emirates Airline also confirmed the move for those departing from Dubai - adding that the test should be done no more than 96 hours before departure and the report will have to be presented at check-in.

The carriers have also advised passengers to carry a printed version of the result.
