Dubai Metro's red line extension project to begin next year

Metro projects in the GCC have proven to be successful as they move along rapidly. As announced earlier this year, Dubai Metro’s red line will be adding seven new stations which will extend to Dubai World Central. With the 11th MEED Mena Rail and Metro Summit kicking off in Dubai, ARN spoke to Ed James Director of Content and Analysis at MEED projects about when work on the extension will begin.

James adds that the metro’s blue and purple line projects are still in the long term planning process, and expects them to be done by 2030.
