Consumers in Dubai experienced on average 1.06 minutes of power outage in 2023, which is the lowest rate in the world.
That's according to Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), which said its average electricity Customer Minutes Lost (CML) per year of 1.06, compared to around 15 minutes recorded by leading utility companies in the European Union.
DEWA also broke its previous record of 1.19 minutes per customer, reported in 2022.
The utility provider added that its Smart Grid project was a major contributor to this achievement. The automated system works around the clock to improve fault detection and retrieval of connections.
