The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the completion of 22 new public bus stations across Dubai, a significant step forward in the emirate’s mission to expand and modernise its public transportation infrastructure.

The new facilities include 16 passenger stations and 6 bus shelters strategically developed to serve Dubai’s growing population and enhance commuter experience. The project forms part of the RTA’s broader strategic plan aimed at creating an integrated, safe, and reliable transport system that meets the evolving needs of both residents and visitors.

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, emphasised the initiative’s role in supporting Dubai’s long-term mobility goals. “This project reflects our continued commitment to developing public transport infrastructure and promoting increased use of mass transit for daily mobility,” said Al Tayer.

In addition to serving passengers, the newly constructed bus shelters will also play a vital operational role. They will function as key facilities for the maintenance and cleaning of Dubai’s public bus fleet, which currently includes 1,387 vehicles.

The development aligns with Dubai’s vision of a smart and sustainable transport network and marks another milestone in its efforts to reduce road congestion and carbon emissions through greater reliance on public transport.
