UAE leaders congratulate Saudi Crown Prince on PM role

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led the messages of congratulations to Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on his appointment as Prime Minister.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Sheikh Mohamed wished the Saudi Crown Prince and Prince Khalid bin Salman, who takes on the role of Defence Minister, "every success in their new roles".

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also sent a similar message to Mohammed bin Salman on the occasion.

Meanwhile, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, wished the Saudi Crown Prince success and the Kingdom greater progress under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

It comes after the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia issued a decree promoting Khalid bin Salman as Minister of Defence and appointing Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan as minister of education.

Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi will step in as assistant minister of defence.
