Close to 4.5 million people visited Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque during the first six months of this year.
March registered the highest footfall with more than half a million people visiting the site.
In terms of nationality, Indian visitors led the way followed by Chinese, Russian and German nationals.
In total 82 per cent of the mosque's visitors were tourists, while 18 per cent were UAE residents.
