UAE air defence systems detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran towards the country on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Defence said the first missile fell outside the UAE’s territorial waters, while the second fell within its territorial waters.
It was later announced that assessments revealed the two ballistic missiles detected, originating from Iran, were targeting maritime navigation and fell into the sea.
It added that authorities remain on high alert and fully prepared to respond to any threats, protect the UAE’s sovereignty and security, and safeguard its national interests and capabilities.
The Ministry has also urged the public to rely on official sources for information and avoid spreading rumours or false reports.
