The UAE has expressed its solidarity with the Philippines after two Air Force aircraft crashed during a training flight in Batangas province, killing four pilots.
The incident happened on Friday at Fernando Air Base, south of Manila. Both aircraft came down within the base, with no other casualties reported.
Local media reports the aircraft collided in mid-air, but authorities have not confirmed this.
The Philippine Air Force has temporarily grounded its SF-260 trainer fleet while the cause is investigated.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condolences to the victims’ families, as well as to the Philippine government and people.
