UAE Media Council issues firm warning against AI misuse

The UAE Media Council has issued a strong reminder that using artificial intelligence or similar technologies to depict national symbols or public figures without official approval is a violation of the country's media laws.

The Council also cautioned against using AI to spread false information, incite hate speech, damage someone’s reputation or undermine social values — all of which are considered media offences and could result in fines or administrative penalties.

Media professionals, content creators and social media users are being urged to act responsibly, both legally and ethically, when creating or sharing content.
